Our networks have been severely impacted from a few storms in July and early August. We need your help cleaning up! As with our trail clinics, we will provide volunteers of all abilities with knowledge about trail construction, the tools for the job, along with the methods needed to safely execute trail work projects.
All trail clinics begin with a discussion about the tools we use, safe operation, and a summary of some trail projects where you can get your hands dirty. Then we’ll head out to the trails as we walk through the steps to install upgrades throughout the network. Expect to walk about 2-3 miles for this trail day! This clinic will be focused on re-tuning the trails after flooding on July 10th and clearing debris from down trees after the recent hurricane storm on Friday August 9th.
When and Where:
Carse Hills – Saturday August 17th – 9:00am
We will meet at the Carse Hills trailhead on Lincoln Rd. Parking is available along the side of the road, please park on one side, adjacent to the field, to allow local traffic to continue unobstructed. Arrive by 9:00am with plans to hit the trail shortly after!
What to bring:
- Closed toe shoes
- Water and/or snacks
- Bug spray/bug nets
Additional Recommendations
- Pants
- Gloves
- Eye protection
Tools will be provided, but folks are encouraged to bring your own if you have any (depending on the project, the following can be useful: leaf rakes, shovels, picks, hoes, loppers, saws, stone working tools). Best of all – bring a friend or two – many hands make light work! Let’s get our trails cleaned up and ready to ride.
