Fellowship of the Wheel is hosting a Trail Clinic! If you have been to one of our trail days in the past, this will look and feel all the same, but is more than just a trail day. This series of Trail Clinics throughout the 2024 season will provide volunteers of all abilities with knowledge about trail construction, the tools for the job, along with the methods needed to safely execute trail work projects.

All trail clinics begin with a discussion about the tools we use, safe operation, and a summary of some trail projects where you can get your hands dirty. Then we’ll head out to the trails as we walk through the steps to install upgrades throughout the network. Expect to walk about 1-2 miles depending on the work site! This clinic will be focused on re-tuning the trails after flooding on July 10th. Clearing debris/stones/silt from the trail and fortifying drains.

When and Where:

Hinesburg Town Forest – Wednesday August 7th – 5:30pm

We will meet at the parking area located at the end of Hayden Hill EAST Rd. Please note, Hayden Hill EAST Rd does not connect to Hayden Hill West, you must use Texas Hill Rd to access this parking area. Arrive by 5:30pm with plans to hit the trail shortly after!

What to bring:

Closed toe shoes
Water and/or snacks
Bug spray/bug nets

Additional Recommendations

Pants
Gloves
Eye protection

Tools will be provided, but folks are encouraged to bring your own if you have any (depending on the project, the following can be useful: leaf rakes, shovels, picks, hoes, loppers, saws, stone working tools)

Fellowship of the Wheel is a non-profit that advocates for mountain biking and maintains 100+ miles of public multi-use trails in Chittenden County, Vermont. We work with private and municipal landowners to create responsibly-built, sustainable trails for the greater community to enjoy their surrounding environment through recreation.
